Maximum stability

 The state-of-the-art nitrogen-over-hydraulic pendulum axles offer a 26,000 pound capacity at 62 mph. The axle assemblies of the QUANTUM™  are extremely compact; allowing for an extraordinarily wide suspension gauge producing the most stable suspension in the industry. The sealed pivot bearing design of the QUANTUM™’s hydraulic suspension is completely maintenance free and offers up to 22” of oscillation. The hydraulic axle compensation is connected through a traditional three-point zone, in order to ensure uniform axle loads under static and dynamic conditions. The QUANTUM™  distinguishes itself from other hydraulic trailers by offering a more advanced swing axle design for on-highway applications. The geometry of the swing-axle is specifically designed to ensure axle stability and reduce “axle wandering” at highway speed. In addition to the completely maintenance free bearings, high axle capacity, stable swing axle geometry and wide suspension gauge the QUANTUM™  has sophisticated height sensors integrally designed within each suspension zone for communications with the onboard computer.

Superior manuverability

The QUANTUM™  offers hydraulic round steer with zero-degree steer differential. The non-modular design promotes “perfect” steering geometry with optimal tie rod locations and lengths. The hydraulic mechanical steering system stands apart from traditional round steer European trailers. The QUANTUM™  combines robust design, fail-safe electronics with brilliant engineering to create the most user-friendly steering system ever on a heavy haul trailer. The hydraulic circuits are redundant to promote safe operations in the event of hydraulic failure for one steering circuit. In normal operations the trailer steering is actuated via the tow-bar; however, Bluetooth synched remotes can over-steer on the fly when the trailer is operating at less than 12 mph without the manipulation of any manual valves. The onboard computer is in constant communication with the Electronic Brake System (EBS); when the EBS reads an axle speed of greater than 12 mph the computer and remote is deactivated to ensure no accidental steering actuations at highway speeds. 

The tow-bar is capable of actuating a steer angle up to +/- 50° . The Bluetooth remote can over-steer to a maximum steer angle of +/- 54° . The remote over-steer functionality is optimal for creating separation between the tow-bar and the trailer once the tow-bar has achieved max steering angle. By activating the remote the steering system automatically overcompensates for the situation and naturally alleviates the hazard of tow-bar damage.

 The control system offers many firsts to the North American heavy haul trailer industry. From a Bluetooth remote to digital sensors to an onboard computer, the QUANTUM™  produces smooth and reliable control operations. The control system connects precise digital sensors at various positions on the trailer with state-of-the-art EBS to communicate with an onboard computer for dependable hydraulic control. The onboard computer relays control functions to the electric-over-hydraulic control panel to activate remote steering and suspension functionality. The hydraulic control panel relies on the truck’s on demand, pressure compensating hydraulic pump for smooth, quiet control. All control systems have a manual control at the control panel for back-up functionality.
